The medicine is combination of Amlodipine and Telmisartan, which collectively act by relaxing the blood vessels and improve the blood circulation efficiency of heart. Both salts work sinergistically and helps to bring blood pressure down. The drug contribute to improve overall heart health and effective blood pressure management.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, or skip if it's almost time for the next dose.
Synergistic Effect- refers to the phenomenon in which when two or more drugs combine show greater effect comparfatively when those drugs act individually.
Hypertension show elevated blood pressure majorly in the arteries. It is measured in two different parameters. Measurement written in top indicate pressure in the arteries during the contraction of heart while Measurement written in lower indicate arterial pressure during the relaxation of heart.
You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause some side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated, drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy so avoid driving, using machinery or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again.
If you accidentally take too much of Telin A, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any of such symptoms contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.
Even if your blood pressure is successfully lowered by this medicine, it is advised to continue your medication. If you stop taking Telin A, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Blood pressure lowering medicines only help to control your condition but do not cure it. You will probably need to take them for the rest of your life. Remember, by keeping your blood pressure controlled you are reducing your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
You should not stop taking Telin A without talking to your doctor first. If you do stop taking it, your blood pressure may rise and you may put yourself at greater risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. If you experience side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, etc., talk to your doctor.
Telin A is generally safe to take for a long time. Remember to follow your doctors advice/instructions.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you often forget doses, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. If not sure then you can consult your doctor for other ways to help you remember.
You may have to take Telin A for a long-term or even lifelong. The medicine only keeps your blood pressure under control for as long as you are taking it. Therefore, it is advised to continue your medication and follow your doctors advice.
Telin A may very rarely lead to erectile dysfunction (inability to gain or maintain an erection). Consult your doctor if you are worried or notice some changes. However, untreated hypertension (high blood pressure) itself can lead to erectile dysfunction, therefore it is important that you take your medicine regularly and keep track of your blood pressure.
Lifestyle changes play a major role in keeping you healthy if you are taking Telin A. Avoid taking excess salt in your diet and find ways to reduce or manage stress in your life. Practice yoga or meditation or take up a hobby. Ensure that you have a sound sleep every night as this also helps to reduce stress levels and helps to keep your blood pressure normal. Stop smoking and alcohol consumption as this helps in lowering your blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and fat-free products. Consult your doctor if you need any further guidance to get the maximum benefit of Telin A and to keep yourself healthy.
High blood pressure does not usually have any symptoms, so you may not feel ill if there is any change in the blood pressure. Therefore, this medicine may not make you feel “better”. This does not mean that you can stop the medicine as they are working in the background to reduce your risk of serious illness.
