Q-Sap Eye Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Chloramphenicol and Hydrocortisone. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Hydrocortisone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause redness, swelling and itching after an allergy or infection.
Usually, Q-Sap starts working soon after using it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
No, do not stop using Q-Sap and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
