How Polynase D Eye Ointment works

It is a combination of two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol, Polymyxin B) and a steroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Together, they treat your eye infection effectively. The steroid blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins), making the eye red, swollen, and itchy.

How To Use Polynase D Eye Ointment

  • This medicine is for external use only.
  • Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
  • Check the label for directions before use.
  • Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it.
  • Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
  • Use regularly 3-4 times in a day.

Special Precautions About Polynase D Eye Ointment

  • Do not touch the tube tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
  • Remove contact lenses before applying the dose and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Consult a doctor before using if you have any eye conditions or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
