Febuget 40 Tablet 10s is a non-purine selective inhibitor, disrupts the activity of xanthine oxidase, a key enzyme in purine breakdown. By forming a stable complex with both forms of the enzyme, febuxostat effectively hinders its function. This inhibition reduces the production of uric acid from hypoxanthine, leading to lower levels of uric acid in the bloodstream. The therapeutic impact of febuxostat lies in its ability to decrease serum uric acid levels in individuals with hyperuricemia, a condition where uric acid concentration exceeds its solubility threshold. What is the best time to take febuxostat?

It is best taken in the morning. You can take febuxostat with or without food. Keep taking febuxostat every day, to prevent gout attacks. It may take a few weeks before you notice the full benefits of febuxostat.

How many days should I take febuxostat?

Remember, febuxostat should be taken every day to prevent a gout attack. It can take six months to become fully effective. It does not have any effect during a gout attack, although you should continue to take it regularly every day even if this happens.

What is the best time to take Febuget?

Febuget is advised to be taken once a day. It can be taken at any time of the day, but preferably at the same time each day so that you remember to take it every day. This will help maintain the levels of Febuget in the body. You can take this medicine with or without food.

However, after sub-group analysis of studies with treatment duration greater or equal to 6 months, a significantly lower serum creatinine in the patients with febuxostat treatment compared with those in the control group were observed.

It may also cause changes in the color of urine (dark or tea colored) and may make your skin or the white part of your eyes turn yellow (jaundice).

Can Febuget cause kidney damage?

Febuget may affect kidneys in different ways, though it is quite uncommon. You may experience blood in the urine, frequent urination, kidney stones, abnormal urine tests (increased level of proteins in the urine) and a reduction in the ability of the kidneys to function properly. Rarely, it may cause changes or decrease in urine amount due to inflammation in the kidneys (tubulointerstitial nephritis). Consult your doctor if your kidney functions get further affected.
