How Xynova P Cream works

Lidocaine (Lignocaine): Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that works by blocking sodium channels on nerve cells, which are necessary for sending pain signals to the brain. This numbs the area and reduces pain perception. Prilocaine: Prilocaine is another local anesthetic that complements the action of Lidocaine. It also blocks nerve signals, helping to prolong the numbing effect and providing effective pain relief.

How To Use Xynova P Cream

  • Dosage: Apply as directed by your healthcare provider. Usually, a thin layer is applied to the skin and covered with a dressing.
  • Administration: Clean the area where the cream will be applied. Apply a thin layer of Xynova P Cream evenly over the affected area.
  • Cover the area with an occlusive dressing (plastic wrap or other airtight material) to ensure maximum absorption.
  • Leave the cream on for about 30 minutes to 1 hour before the procedure. Remove the dressing and wipe off the cream just before the procedure begins.

Special Precautions About Xynova P Cream

  • Avoid this medication if you are allergic to local anesthetics like Lidocaine or Prilocaine.
  • Do not apply this medication over large areas of skin without medical supervision, as this increases the risk of systemic absorption and side effects.

What is Xynova P used for?

Xynova P is a combination of two local anesthetics, prilocaine and lidocaine. It is used to numb the surface of the intact skin before needle insertion or minor superficial surgical procedures. The effect of numbness after application of Xynova P is expected to be upto 3 hours under pressure dressing and may persist for 1 to 2 hours after removal of the cream.

How do you use Xynova P?

Xynova P should be applied to the skin for at least 1 hour before the start of a routine procedure (needle insertion). Maintain a gap of at least 2 hours before the start of a painful procedure (minor surgical procedure). Apply pressure bandage on the top to give an even distribution of cream and protect the area. When applied to the genital mucosa, a thick layer of Xynova P is applied to the skin surface for 15 minutes, before giving local anesthetic injection. Your doctor will advise the exact duration to apply the cream.
