Xtane Tablet is an aromatase inhibitor. It is used in the treatment of breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause. It works by adjusting the level of estrogen and helps in slowing down the growth of cancer cells.
Xtane Tablet is also used in combination with medication in early cancer to prevent the risk of coming back. It should be taken with food, but take it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctors advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.
Your doctor may perform some blood tests to check for vitamin D level or bone density.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Xtane Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Xtane Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctors advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Xtane Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Xtane Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Xtane Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Xtane Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
