How Velaf 150mg Tablet ER works

It is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor that inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, increasing the levels of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft which reduces anxiety by enhancing mood.

  • It should be taken regularly at the same time to maintain consistent level of drug in blood.
  • It should be taken with food.

Can Velaf cause weight loss?

Yes. Velaf is known to cause weight loss in some patients. In research studies, a dose-dependent weight loss was noted in patients treated with Velaf for several weeks. Please consult your doctor if it bothers you.

Can Velaf cause sedation?

Yes. Velaf can cause sedation. You should inform your doctor if you are taking any other sleep inducing medicines before starting Velaf.

Is Velaf a narcotic?

No. Velaf is not a narcotic drug. Narcotics are drugs with sleep inducing properties, usual derivatives of Opium like Heroin and Morphine.

Why does Velaf cause loss of appetite?
