Satrogyl-O Dry Syrup is a member of the antibiotic class, primarily employed to manage conditions like diarrhea and dysentery, as well as various bacterial infections in different parts of the body. Diarrhea refers to a condition where a person experiences frequent loose or watery stools, whereas dysentery is marked by severe diarrhea with mucus or blood present in the stools. Bacterial infections occur due to harmful bacteria growing inside or on the surface of the body.
It has two antibiotics: Ofloxacin and Satranidazole. Ofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic that blocks bacterial DNA gyrase, which is crucial for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Satranidazole is an anti-amoebic and antibacterial drug that exterminates harmful bacteria and parasites by destroying their DNA, halting their cell division, and preventing cell repair.
