How Razit 10mg Tablet works

It inhibits the proton pump in the stomach lining. Due to this, the production of stomach acid decreases and it gets relieved from peptic ulcers and esophagitis (swelling in the stomach).

How To Use Razit 10mg Tablet

  • Take the medicine one hour before having your first meal.
  • Follow the dose strictly given by the doctor as it will be prescribed as per your condition.
  • Take the medicine consistently each day following the healthcare professional's advise.
  • Do not stop taking it even if you feel better until your doctor tells you to do so.
  • You can improvise your symptoms by eating smaller meals more frequenlty.

Special Precautions About Razit 10mg Tablet

  • Avoid drinking caffienated beverages like coffee and tea. Do not eat fatty and spicy foods.
  • Do not use this drug for extended duration as it may pose the risk of bone fractures.
  • Taking the medicine for 3 months regularly may develop the symptoms of hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium in blood) which may lead to confusion, tiredness, muscle twitches, dizziness, and irregular heartbeat.

What is the best time to take Razit?

It is best to take Razit before your breakfast. If you are taking two doses, take it in the morning and evening. Razit is more effective when it is taken an hour before your food.

Can I take antacids along with Razit?

Yes, you can take antacids along with Razit. Take it 2 hours before or after you take Razit.

Does Razit cause bone problems?

Yes, long term use of Razit can cause thinning of bones, which is called osteoporosis. Razit decreases the calcium absorption leading to calcium deficiency, and increases the risk of bone fractures of hip, wrist or spine. Take an adequate amount of calcium in your diet or take the supplements as advised by your doctor to avoid any bone problems.

Can I stop taking Razit if I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Razit before completing the full course of treatment. You will start to feel better before your treatment is complete.

Is it safe to use Razit for a long period of time?

Razit should be used for as long as it has been prescribed by your doctor. Razit is usually considered to be safe when taken in the recommended dose and duration. If Razit is used for more than 3 months, certain long term side effects may be seen. The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood which may make you feel tired, confused, dizzy, shaky or dizzy. You may also have muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat. If the use is further prolonged for more than a year, you may have an increased risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, osteoporosis, and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Can long term use of Razit cause magnesium deficiency?

Long-term use of Razit can lower magnesium levels in patients taking multiple daily doses for 3 months or longer. Get your magnesium levels checked at regular intervals. Can I take alcohol with Razit?

No, alcohol intake is not advised with Razit. Alcohol itself does not affect the working of Razit, but it can increase the acid production. This may further cause worsening of your symptoms.

How is Razit useful in the treatment of H. pylori infection?

Razit is used along with antibiotics for the treatment of H.Pylori infection. It works by decreasing stomach acid volume and decreasing breakdown and washout of antibiotics leading to an increased antibiotic concentration and tissue penetration. It also helps in the symptomatic relief by decreasing associated acidity, reflux, and heartburn.

What is Razit used for?

Razit is used for the treatment of stomach and intestinal ulcers (gastric and duodenal ulcers), reflux esophagitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It works by reducing the amount of acid made by your stomach and thus relieves your symptoms. Razit also prevents acidity associated with use of painkillers and stress ulcers in critically ill people. It is also used to treat a disease associated with excessive acid production in the stomach known as Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES).

Can I take Razit with vitamin D?

Yes, vitamin D can be taken along with Razit. Vitamin D is generally advised to be taken as a supplement with Razit as the long term use of Razit decreases the absorption of calcium and may lead to calcium deficiency.
