Pyzina 750 Tablet is an antibiotic that belongs to a class of medicines known as anti tuberculosis drugs. It is used in the treatment of tuberculosis, an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs and in some cases other parts of the body.
Pyzina 750 Tablet is given in combination with at least one other tuberculosis medicine. It acts by killing the causative bacteria. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine may be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time every day to avoid a missed dose. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early can result in treatment failure and increase the side effects too. Please let your doctor know about any changes in your weight as the dose of this medicine depends on the overall body weight of a person. Any changes in weight might need dose modification.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose, as it may increase the side effects.
Your doctor may monitor your liver function while on treatment with this medicine. Avoid drinking alcohol as this may have additional adverse effects on the liver. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Pyzina 750 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Pyzina 750 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Pyzina 750 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
It is not known whether Pyzina 750 Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Pyzina 750 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Pyzina 750 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Kidney function tests are advised before you start taking this medicine.
Pyzina 750 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pyzina 750 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advised before and after the start of the treatment.
Pyzina 750 Tablet is an antitubercular medicine. In the body, it gets converted to pyrazinoic acid. This pyrazinoic acid inhibits fatty acid synthase I (bacterial enzyme), which is essential for bacterial growth. Thus, it works as a bacteriocidal to prohibit their growth and treats tuberculosis.
Many cases of pyrazinamide hepatotoxicity are severe and prolonged, and fatal instances have occurred. Pyrazinamide has not been linked to chronic hepatitis or vanishing bile duct syndrome. There is no cross reactivity of the hepatic injury with other currently available antituberculosis agents.
Rifampin, isoniazid, and pyrazinamide combination is used to treat tuberculosis (TB) infection. It may be taken alone or with one or more other medicines for TB. Rifampin belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics and works to kill or prevent the growth of bacteria.
Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or mild muscle/joint pain may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
You should take rifampicin on an empty stomach. This means that you should take your doses about an hour before a meal, or wait until two hours afterwards. This is because your body absorbs less rifampicin if taken at the same time as food, which means it is less effective.
The medications work best if they are taken all together one hour before, or two hours after, food and preferably with water. Ideally, the medications should be taken at the same time each day. For patients who have nausea, the medications can be taken with light food (eg, dry toast).
How it works: Pyrazinamide is a chemically synthesised bacteriocidal antibiotic. It converts a special enzyme to an active form which inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids; this disrupts the cell membrane and disables energy production which is necessary for the survival of the TB bacteria.
Pyrazinamide is used to treat tuberculosis (TB) in adults and children. Pyrazinamide must be used with other TB medicines. Tuberculosis can become resistant to treatment if pyrazinamide is used alone.
Physical Signs That TB Treatment Is Working Overall improvement in the way one feels. Weight gain. Increased appetite. Improvement in strength and stamina.
Pyzina kills or stops growth of bacteria that causes tuberculosis (Mycobacterium tuberculosis). The exact mechanism of action for Pyzina is not known
Fruits and vegetables like orange, mango, sweet pumpkin and carrots, guava, amla, tomato, nuts and seeds are an excellent source of Vitamin A, C and E. These foods must be included in the daily diet regime of a TB patient. TB patients tend to experience loss in appetite.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) supplementation during isoniazid (INH) therapy is necessary in some patients to prevent the development of peripheral neuropathy.
Headache, loss of appetite, upset stomach, or nausea/vomiting may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Pyzina is both a bacteriostatic and a bactericidal antibiotic. It stops the growth of bacteria (bacteriostatic) in certain cases and kills (bactericidal) the tuberculosis causing bacteria in other cases
Your child should start to feel better and have fewer symptoms after taking the TB medicines for about 2 weeks. However, they must continue to take the medicine every day until the doctor says to stop treatment. This will be for 2 months for pyrazinamide and at least 6 months for the other medicines.
Following oral intake of Pyzina, it gets converted in the body to pyrazinoic acid (active chemical form of Pyzina). Pyrazinoic acid blocks the excretion of urates (salt form of uric acid) by the kidneys. This causes an increase in blood levels of uric acid (hyperuricemia). Excess uric acid accumulation between joints causes pain, swelling, redness and stiffness in joints (gout).
MUNICH — When first-line tuberculosis (TB) drugs are taken with food, there is a reduction in maximum plasma concentration and bioavailability of the drug than when taken on an empty stomach, according to the results of a new pharmacokinetic study.
