Puradine M Ointment should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.<BR>If a single dose of Puradine M Ointment is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.

Puradine M Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Metronidazole and Povidone Iodine. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other harmful microorganisms by damaging their DNA. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied on skin which is infected or is likely to get infected. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of these microorganisms.
