Dabigatran Etexilate (110 mg) blocks thrombin, an enzyme needed for blood clot formation. It reduces the risk of stroke and embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation and starts working within 1-2 hours of intake. Unlike warfarin, Pradaxa has an antidote (Idarucizumab) for emergency reversal.
An erratic and frequently fast pulse rate is the hallmark of atrial fibrillation, a heart disorder that raises the risk of heart failure, strokes, and other heart-related issues. A blood clot that forms in a deep vein, commonly in the legs, producing pain and swelling, is known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
