How Olmat AM 40mg/5mg Tablet 10s works

This is a combined pharmaceutical formulation containing Olmesartan medoxomil and Amlodipine. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and Olmesartan medoxomil works to block Angiotensin receptors that block the action of angiotensin II resulting in relaxation and widen the blood vessels. These drugs together make blood pumping through the heart more efficient by relaxing the blood vessels and work successfully in effectively reducing high blood pressure.

You may have to take Olmat AM life long. Olmat AM controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Do not stop taking it even if your blood pressure is well controlled. Olmat AM is generally considered safe to be taken for a long term. In some cases, long-term use may adversely affect the kidneys and the kidneys may not function as they should.
