This formula is generally prescribed to children to treat cough, runny nose, sneezing, body ache, sore throat, watery eyes, and fever
These symptoms are usually related to hay fever, common cold, and other respiratory conditions
This formulation has been prepared from the combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine maleate, Phenylephrine, and Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, and Sodium citrate. Chlorpheniramine inhibits histamine, which relieves allergy symptoms such as sneezing and itching. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that stops the body from making histamine during an allergic reaction. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that makes breathing easier by treating swelling and congestion by contracting the blood vessels present in the nasal passages. Paracetamol is an antipyretic and a pain reliever. It inhibits several chemical messengers from the brain responsible for the sensation of pain and cause inflammation. Sodium citrate breaks down mucus and facilitates its removal from the respiratory tract.
Common cold is an infection that primarily affects the nose and throat. It includes symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, coughing, and a mild fever. It spreads through droplets in the air or by touching contaminated surfaces.
