How Nicoace MR Tablet works

It is a combined drug composed of Aceclofenac, Paracetamol (pain relieving medicines), and Chlorzoxazone (a muscle relaxant). The medicines help to relieve pain acts by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers released by the brain that cause inflammation (swelling and redness) and pain. The muscle relaxant acts on the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) to relieve muscle spasms and stiffness, hence improving muscular movement.

How To Use Nicoace MR Tablet

  • This should be taken following the prescribed dose and duration.
  • Chewing, breaking, or crushing of medicine should not be done instead swallow it as a whole.
  • It should be taken on empty stomach or after having a meal, but try to maintain a consistent time for better results.

Special Precautions About Nicoace MR Tablet

  • Taking too much paracetamol can harm the liver, so it's important not to exceed a daily dose of 4 grams.
  • Avoid taking it if you have any significant medical condition, severe kidney or liver disease, or if you are planning to conceive or are already pregnant.

What if I forget to take Nicoace MR Tablet?

If you forget to take the scheduled dose of Nicoace MR Tablet and it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and take your next dose at the scheduled time. Otherwise, take it as soon as you remember, and then go back to taking your medicine as you would normally. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you missed because this may increase the risk of unwanted side effect due to overdosage. If you are not sure what to do, consult your doctor about how to manage a situation like this.

Can the use of Nicoace MR Tablet cause damage to liver?

Nicoace MR Tablet contains Paracetamol and Chlorzoxazone, both these medicines are known to cause harm to the liver especially when taken in doses above the recommended level. Also, avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may further increase your risk of liver damage. Use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage. These symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes and abnormal live enzymes.

Can I stop taking Nicoace MR Tablet when my pain is relieved?

Nicoace MR Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when your pain is relieved. However, Nicoace MR Tablet should be continued if you are advised by your doctor to do so.
