It has a combination of two drugs namely, Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Levocetirizine works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for allergic reactions like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast blocks another messenger (leukotriene) which reduces swelling in the airways. Together they relieve allergic symptoms and aids respiration.
Allergic conditions appear as a result of activity of the immune system against foreign substances like pollen, dust, or certain foods. It includes symptoms like sneezing, itching, rashes, redness or swelling. Some of the common allergic conditions are hay fever, food allergies, and asthma.
