This pharmaceutical preparation is prepared by combining two medicines: Montelukast, and Desloratadine. Desloratadine is an antiallergic that relieves symptoms such as watery eyes, sneezing, and runny nose by blocking the action of histamine (a chemical messenger). Montelukast falls in the category of anti-leukotriene drugs which showcases its activity by blocking the actions of a chemical messenger “leukotriene”. This aids in preventing and treating asthmatic and allergic symptoms by reducing inflammation.
Allergic conditions appear as a result of activity of the immune system against foreign substances like pollen, dust, or certain foods. It includes symptoms like sneezing, itching, rashes, redness or swelling. Some of the common allergic conditions are hay fever, food allergies, and asthma.
