Minipress XL 5 mg Tablet is a blood pressure-lowering medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It contains Prazosin (5 mg), which belongs to the class of alpha-blockers. It helps relax blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing strain on the heart.
Patients suffering from liver disease should use Minipress XL 5mg Tablet cautiously. Doctor may adjust the dose as per the requirement of your body.
Using Minipress XL 5mg Tablet by kidney patients considered to be safe. Studies conducted so far suggests no need of dose adjustments in these patients. Doctor's consultation is advised as this drug can be started with a low dose and then can be increased further if needed.
Consuming alcohol while taking Minipress XL 5mg Tablet may lowers the blood pressure.
Taking Minipress XL 5mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy and sleepy, Avoid driving ubntil you are alert enogh.
In case of pregnancy; taking Minipress XL 5mg Tablet can have some negative effects in developing baby Doctor's consultation is necessaryb to weigh the potential risks and benefits related to the drug.
If you are breast feeding a child, taking Minipress XL 5mg Tablet can be unsafe as in some studies the medicine has found to pass the breast milk.
For Hypertension: Prazosin blocks alpha-1 receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and widen, thereby lowering blood pressure. For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): It relaxes the muscles of the bladder and prostate, making urination easier in men with enlarged prostate glands.
