Mesalo Foam is an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat a type of bowel disease known as ulcerative colitis. It is used in condition when the lining tissue of the inner rectum becomes inflamed (proctitis).
Mesalo Foam is an aminosalicylate. It works directly on the site of inflammation (swelling) in the lower parts of large intestine (colon and rectum) to provide rapid relief from attacks of ulcerative colitis. It suppresses the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause intestinal inflammation, thereby reducing ulceration, bleeding and painful symptoms.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems or a blockage in your stomach.

Mesalo Foam may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Mesalo Foam is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.<BR>If you are taking Mesalo Foam, monitor the baby for diarrhea.
