Calcium carbonate in combination with sodium bicarbonate comes in contact with acid present in the stomach lead to the release out carbon dioxide bubbles. Due to these bubbles; a protective barrier forms on top of the stomach contents, which does not allow stomach acid to flow back into the food pipe. In addition; the fast dissolution of sodium bicarbonate result in neutralizing the stomach acid and exert a rapid buffering action.

- The suspension should be taken after having food.
