Fucidin Ointment 15gm

Fucidin® Ointment is made to be put directly on skin and wounds. It treats skin and wound infections, especially those caused by Staphylococci. Fucidin® Ointment does not work against infections caused by viruses and other bacteria, which are resistant.

Unless your doctor has told you to, you must not use Fucidin H cream on open wounds or sensitive areas such as the nostrils, ears, lips or genitals. Unless your doctor has told you to, you must not use Fucidin H cream on thin skin, skin ulcers, broken veins or acne.

Fucidin should be used as advised by your doctor. It is recommended to apply Fucidin for three to four times daily on the infected area.

Do not use Fucidin® Ointment after 60 days of first opening the tube or the expiry date printed on the pack, whichever comes first.

In vitro studies show that fusidic acid can penetrate intact human skin. The degree of penetration depends on factors such as the duration of exposure to fusidic acid and the condition of the skin.

Fucidin can be used on open wound. It is helpful in the treatment of wound infection.

Fuciderm ^® was prescribed for your dog only, and it should not be used on other dogs.

Fucidin H Cream contains the active ingredients hydrocortisone 1%, which is an anti-inflammatory steroid, and fusidic acid 2%, which treats most common bacterial infections of the skin. It is not active against fungal skin infections.

Use Fucidin for the duration recommended by your doctor. It should be used for 1-2 weeks for skin infection. However, sometimes it can be used for a longer duration of time.

How do you use Fucidin cream and ointment? Apply the cream or ointment to the infected area of skin three or four times a day, as directed by your doctor. Your doctor will usually ask you to use the cream or ointment for 7 to 14 days. Wash your hands before applying the cream or ointment.

Usually, Fucidin takes about few days to work. Its important to finish the full course of treatment to get rid of your skin infection. Inform your doctor if your infection did not get cured even after finishing the full course of treatment.
