Esowik DSR Capsule 10s is a combination medication containing Esomeprazole (40mg) and Domperidone (30mg), designed to manage various gastrointestinal conditions. This formulation is particularly effective in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esowik DSR alleviates symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, and indigestion by reducing stomach acid production and enhancing gastric motility.
Pateints with liver disease should use Esowik DSR with caution. Regular monitoring of liver enzymes may be necessary to prevent complications.
Patients with kidney disease should use Esowik DSR with caution. Regular monitoring of kidney function may be necessary to prevent complications.
Avoid alcohol while taking Esowik DSR, as it can increase the risk of stomach irritation and worsen reflux symptoms. Alcohol may also impair the liver’s ability to metabolize the drug, leading to potential side effects.
Some individuals may experience dizziness or drowsiness while taking Esowik DSR. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel lightheaded or unsteady.
Esowik DSR should only be used if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Discuss potential risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.
Small amounts of the medication may pass into breast milk. Consult your doctor before using Esowik DSR while breastfeeding.
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist that increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and bowel, helping to prevent nausea and vomiting.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive disorder where stomach acid or bile flows back into the esophagus, irritating the lining and causing symptoms like heartburn, chest pain, and regurgitation. It occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), a muscle that prevents acid from moving upward, becomes weak or relaxes inappropriately. Indigestion, or dyspepsia, is a general term for discomfort or pain in the upper abdomen after eating. It is often linked to poor digestion, overeating, or consuming foods that are difficult to digest. Unlike GERD, indigestion does not necessarily involve acid reflux.
