Epina Eye Drop is an antihistaminic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body.
The Epina should be instilled in the affected eye(s) with one drop twice daily. The duration of treatment with Epina will depend upon the disease condition, its severity, and the response of the patient to the treatment. The medicine can be given for as long as four months, if considered necessary. However, the exact duration is decided by your doctor.
Usually, the use of Epina does not make you sleepy, but sometimes there are chances that it can cause sleepiness. It is important to know that taking other anti-allergic medications orally along with this medication can also make you sleepy. Therefore, avoid driving or operating on machinery if you are sleepy. Contact your doctor if the medicine makes you uneasy.
Usually, Epina does not cause eye irritation. In fact, it helps in reducing the inflammation and irritation in the eye. However, in certain cases, patients may experience eye irritation, abnormal eye sensation and eye discomfort.
