It may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

It is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding.
It may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
It should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease.
It should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.
Nortriptyline works by increasing the levels of certain natural chemicals in the brain, such as norepinephrine and serotonin, which help to elevate mood and reduce pain signals.
Depression: A mood disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, loss of interest, and a range of emotional and physical problems. Neuropathic Pain: Pain caused by damage to the nerves, often chronic and resistant to conventional pain treatments.
