This pharmaceutical preparation is used for the treatment of fibrocystic breast disease, endometriosis, and hereditary angioedema
Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment.
Avoid alcohol as it may make some of the negative effects of this drug worse.
May produce vertigo or other side effects that could impair your ability to drive.
Use cautiously in patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment.
Danazol reduces the production of LH and FSH (gonadotropin hormones) by suppressing the ovaries. This reduces the production of oestrogen; which reduces the symptoms of fibrocystic breast disease and endometriosis. Additionally; this increases the level of protein C1-INH and reduces the chances of hereditary heart attack.
Endometriosis is a painful illness in which tissue grows outside of the uterus but resembles the endometrium, the tissue that normally lines the lining of the uterus. Pain, irregular periods, and problems with conception may result from this. Breast lumps that hurt are a symptom of the non-cancerous disorder known as fibrocystic breast disease in women. It can be sensitive and uncomfortable, and it has to do with hormone fluctuations.
