Can we use Closol in infections?
Closol is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication. It should not be used in infections as being a corticosteroid it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. Bacterial infections are prone to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Closol. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected or there is any spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Closol and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Can Closol be used on the face?
No, Closol should not be used on face. In addition to this, Closol should also not be used on the axillae (armpits), groin and if there is atrophy (wasting away of tissues) at the treatment site. In certain circumstances, it can be exceptionally considered to be used by the doctors. It should be used only after consultation with your physician and if possible, the application on face should be limited to a maximum of 5 days.
Can I stop taking Closol when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Closol and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Closol before your treatment is completed can bring back your symptoms.
Can Closol be used for a long time?
No, Closol should not be used for a long time. The doctor generally prescribes it for 2 consecutive weeks only. However, the treatment can be longer for chronic (long-term) inflammatory conditions. Consult your physician before using this medication.
