A disorder known as chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) develops when the legs'' veins are unable to adequately return blood to the heart. Poor circulation and blood pooling in the lower legs result from injury or weakening of the vein valves that normally maintain blood moving upward toward the heart. CVI usually affects the superficial veins, which are near the skin''s surface, or the deeper veins, which are located deeper within the legs.

Avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities at the beginning of your treatment until you know how the medication affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such symptoms.
