What is candid used for?

Candid Cream is an antifungal medication. It is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athletes foot, nappy rash, sweat rash and vaginal thrush. It kills the fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.

Will the use of Candid-V affect my sex life?

Candid-V has no effect on the sex drive or desire. However, it is advised to avoid vaginal intercourse as long as you are using Candid-V. This is because Candid-V will not be able to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Also, the medicine may damage the condoms and diaphragms and hence you may need other forms of contraception.

Does V gel really work?

But not the tightening youre looking for. Its the vaginal wall muscle that grips during intimacy and leads to pleasure. So, V-Gel may or may not give you a quick tissue tightness but even if that, its temporary and wont have a real impact on your pleasure or that of your partner.

What should I do if the infection comes back?

Candid-V can be used again if the candidal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the candidal infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor whether it is candidal infection or something else.

Thrush is a very common infection which is caused by overgrowth of a yeast called Candida albicans. It causes itching and burning around the entrance of vagina. In case of thrush, one may experience thick, heavier than usual discharge, appearing like cottage cheese. Candid-V is an antifungal cream. It is used to kill the fungus or prevent the growth of fungus at the site of infection.

What is the use of Candid-V gel?

Candid-V gel contains Clotrimazole, an antifungal medicine. Candid-V gel is used to manage fungal infections of the vagina. It reduces vaginal burning, itching and discharge caused due to fungal infec.

How should Candid-V be applied?

You should wash your hands properly before using Candid-V. Candid-V comes along with an applicator. Fill the applicator with the cream and insert it into the vagina. Release the medicine into the vagina and remove the applicator. Use it every day before going to bed for 7 days. Wash the applicator after each use.

I had been taking tacrolimus and now I have been prescribed Candid-V vaginal cream. Can I use them together?

Yes, you can use Candid-V and tacrolimus together. However, you may have to keep a watch on the side effects of tacrolimus. Though it happens rarely, the risk of side effects may increase due to increase in levels of tacrolimus because of Candid-V. But if it happens, talk to your doctor who will modify the dose of tacrolimus.

How long should I use Candid-V gel?

Quick Tips. Your doctor has prescribed Candid-V Gel to cure your infection and improve symptoms. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Inform your doctor immediately if there is no improvement in your infection after two to three weeks of treatment.

What precautions are necessary while using Candid-V?

Candid-V should not be used during menstruation as the cream will get washed off with blood flow. Track the menstrual cycle and make sure that the treatment is completed before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches (washing the vagina with water or other fluids), spermicide (a contraceptive substance that destroys sperm) or other vaginal products while using Candid-V.
