Biosone P Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol, Polymyxin B) and a steroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Together, they treat your eye/ear infection effectively. The steroid blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye/ear red, swollen and itchy.
If you apply excess of Biosone P Eye/Ear Drops accidentally, wash your eye with plenty of water. Contact your doctor immediately if eye irritation occurs even after washing off this medicine.
Keep this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
Wash your hands before using Biosone P Eye/Ear Drops to avoid contamination, and do not touch the tip of the dropper. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine. For using this medicine, tilt your head back, look up, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch and then put Biosone P Eye/Ear Drops (drop or ointment).
No, do not stop taking Biosone P Eye/Ear Drops and complete the full course of treatment. Your symptoms may improve and you may start to feel better before the infection is completely cured. But continue taking your medicine for the duration advised by your doctor.
