Mupirocin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds to the bacterial enzyme isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, preventing the bacteria from synthesizing essential proteins needed for their survival and replication. This action effectively stops the growth of the bacteria, allowing the body's immune system to eliminate the infection.

• Apply a small amount of Mupirocin ointment or cream to the affected area of the skin as directed by your healthcare provider, usually 2-3 times a day.

• Do not use Mupirocin in or near the eyes, inside the nose, or on large open wounds unless prescribed.
• Avoid using on areas with severe burns or large surface areas without medical advice.

• Effective in treating a wide range of bacterial skin infections.
