Can I just stop taking Atmen?

No, Atmen should not be stopped even if you feel well. This medicine only helps to control the symptoms of Alzheimers disease but does not cure it. If you need to stop the medication then doctor should be consulted first.

Does Atmen have abuse potential?

No, Atmen does not have abuse potential. On the contrary, it may prevent excess use of addictive drugs such as morphine or ethanol.

How long does it take for Atmen to start working?

For Atmen to start working and show its full benefits, it may require between 3 and 8 hours. The doctor may require a follow-up clinical assessment to check the progress after 4 weeks and then 6 months after the first assessment.

What medicines should I avoid while taking Atmen?

Atmen can interact with several medicines. Taking other medicines along with Atmen can either make Atmen less effective or increase its side effect. Do not take any medicine without talking to your doctor.

Does Atmen make you sleepy?

Atmen should be taken orally once a day. To benefit from your medicine you should take it regularly every day at the same time of the day. The tablets should be swallowed with some water. The tablets can be taken with or without food.

What are the symptoms of overdosage of Atmen?

The symptoms which can be observed due to an overdose of Atmen include tiredness, weakness, drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, and/or vomiting. Some may also experience diarrhea, vertigo, agitation, aggression, and walking difficulty.

How does Atmen affect a person with dementia?

Atmen belongs to a class of medications called N-methyl-D- aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonists. It works by decreasing abnormal activity in the brain. Atmen may improve the ability to think and remember. It may also reduce the deterioration of these abilities in people who have Alzheimers disease. However, with time the effectiveness of this medicine will reduce and it may not be able to cure Alzheimers disease or prevent the loss of these abilities.
