Anomex Suppository is a combination of four medicines: Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin, that helps treat anal fissures . Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain thereby decreasing pain sensation. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturizes and softens the skin.
