Theophylline; an active constituent relaxes bronchial smooth muscles by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase enzyme; which causes bronchodilation and increase of cAMP levels and helps in improving airflow in respiratory conditions.
Conditions that affect the lungs and other respiratory system components and make it difficult to breathe normally are known as respiratory illnesses. These comprise, among other things, lung cancer, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Chest tightness, wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing are some of the symptoms that these disorders can cause. Medications, inhalers, oxygen therapy, and lifestyle modifications may all be part of the treatment, depending on the individual disease.
