GERD is a chronic condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, causing irritation and symptoms like heartburn, regurgitation, and discomfort. Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the lining of the stomach, small intestine, or esophagus. They are often caused by infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria or long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Estab is usually prescribed for short term use only. However, if need arises, such as for treating peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES), Estab may be prescribed for a long term duration as well. Long term use may carry an increased risk for side effects and must be discussed with the doctor. Please use Estab as advised by your doctor and under their supervision.

Can Estab cause weight gain?

Weight gain is reported in less than 1% of the patients taking Estab but the exact cause is unknown. One possible explanation is higher food intake once the reflux symptoms are relieved. Lifestyle modifications such as proper diet and exercise can help to prevent weight gain.

Additionally you may have palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence (gas) or nerve problems such as numbness, tingling and problem in walking.

What is the best time to take Estab?
