Hydroxychloroquine is present in this medicine as an active agent. It is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD). Overactivity of the immune system develops inflammation and pain in the joints, this medicine provides relief by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system. It slows down the progress of the underlying disease. Hydroxychloroquine also improves insulin sensitivity, which improves beta-cell functioning, thereby controlling blood glucose levels in Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.

Does Cartiquin 300 Tablet have any effect on vision?

Yes, though uncommon, HCQS can affect vision especially if taken at higher doses or for a period of time (> 5 years). The symptoms include reading or seeing difficulties (words, letters, or parts of objects missing), sensitivity to light, blurred distant vision, and seeing light flashes or streaks.
