How do you use candid clotrimazole cream?

If you are using clotrimazole cream, apply the cream to the area around the outside of your vagina and back passage two or three times daily. Rub it in gently. Continue to use the cream until the itching and soreness due to the infection are gone.

Is Candid safe to use in children?

Candid is safe for children only if taken as directed by the doctor. It should be given to children in the correct dose only for the prescribed length of time. Minor side effects may occur but usually, they are not bothersome. However, if you develop a burning sensation, redness and itching (which is severe in nature), stop the medicine and contact your doctor.

I have started using Candid. By when can I expect to start seeing the improvements?

The symptoms of skin infection, such as itching or soreness, should improve within a few days of treatment. However, the signs such as redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. Do not stop applying this medicine before the duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel better.

Does Candid affect contraception?

Candid may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives, like diaphragms and condoms. If you are using the cream on vulva or penis, you should use alternative methods of contraception, for at least 5 days after using Candid.

What is candid ointment used for?

Candid Cream is an antifungal medication. It is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athletex26#39;s foot, nappy rash, sweat rash and vaginal thrush. It kills the fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.

Where do you apply candid cream?

Insert the tablet or the applicator into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go. Slowly press the plunger of the applicator to release the tablet. If you have itching/burning around the outside of the vagina (vulva), apply the skin cream to that area usually once or twice a day for no more than 7 days.

For how long should I apply Candid? Can I stop if the symptoms have completely disappeared?

The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. In general, the treatment is continued for 1 month for tinea infection and for at least for 15 days for candida infection. Do not stop the treatment on your own even if you feel better because the infection may come back as it takes some time to kill the fungus.
