This pharmaceutical formulation is a combination of four medicines which is effective in the treatment of dry cough.
It can provide temporary relief from cough by reducing allergic symptoms like throat irritation, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling (in eyes, nose, throat), and sneezing.
It can cause drowsiness or lack of attention when consumed with alcohol.
It should be used cautiously in patients with pre-existing liver disease. Dose adjustment of medicine may be required. Please consult your doctor.
It is safe and it doesn’t cause any major harm to the kidneys. Adjustments to the dosage are not necessary, however it's important to seek advice from your doctor in case of severe kidney disease or for long term use.
It may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Avoid driving if these symptoms occur.
There is no sufficient information available regarding the use of it during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Taking It during pregnancy might be unsafe. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby, consult your doctor for specific information.
Torex Tablet 10s contains a combination of four active ingredients namely, Bromhexine, Chlorpheniramine, Guaifenesin, and Thorphan. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent which loosens and thin mucus in the Airways and makes it easier to cough up and clear. Guaiphenesin is an expectorant which assists to remove out mucus from the respiratory tract. Chlorpheniramine inhibits histamine, which relieves allergy symptoms such as sneezing and itching. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that stops the body from making histamine during an allergic reaction.
Use medicine as you remember to take. If the next dose is upcoming, skip the missed Dose. Do not double up for the compensation of missed Doses. If you miss a dose frequently then consult your Doctor.
A dry cough occurs without producing any mucus or phlegm. It is primarily caused by irritation or inflammation in the throat and airways, such as from allergies, smoke, or a viral infection like the common cold.
