How Tonoderm 5% Cream 15gm works

This formula has been designed by combining five active constituents: Clobetasol propionate, Ketoconazole, Neomycin sulphate, Tolnaftate, Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline. Clobetasol propionate is a steroidal medicine that causes redness in the skin by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins); reduce itching and swelling. Ketoconazole damages the fungal cell membrane and this membrane is necessary for the survival of the fungus. Neomycin sulphate is an antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to perform vital functions. Tolnaftate is an antifungal agent that inhibits fungal growth by inhibiting the squalene epoxidase enzyme (crucial for synthesis of fungal cell membrane) and leads to cell death. Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline have a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity which disrupt cell-membrane of cell membranes and inhibits vital enzyme systems, lead to prevention and treatment of bacterial and fungal skin infections.
