It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.

Some common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness), dryness in mouth, constipation, joint pain and insomnia (difficulty sleeping). Therefore, you will be required to be in hospital for at least 3 hours after Tolaz injection.

No, Tolaz is not a sleeping pill. It belongs to the atypical antipsychotic class of medicines. It is used to treat schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions. Tolaz also helps with bipolar disorder (manic depressive disorder). It is a disease that causes episodes of depression, mania, and other abnormal moods.
