Tasigna 200mg Capsule is a member of the tyrosine kinase inhibitors category, targeted towards treating Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML), a specific form of blood malignancy. Ph+ CML results in unusual activity in the white blood cells.
It consists of Nilotinib, an element that interferes with the function of a faulty protein (Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase) induced by the Philadelphia chromosome. This irregular protein sends signals for abnormal white blood cells (tumor cells) to proliferate. Nilotinib suppresses this prompt, thereby preventing the growth and division of these malignant cells, ultimately resulting in their demise. This mechanism is integral for handling Ph+ CML, and it's pivotal in addressing this kind of leukemia.
If you miss a dose of drug, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is already the next day, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are unsure about what to do, consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist for advice.
