Introduction to Olmigo C 20mg Tablet

It is an anti hypertensive drug. It is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) to prevent complications like heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure.

It works in two ways. Olmesartan relaxes and widens blood vessels, facilitating smoother blood flow, while chlorthalidone, a diuretic, increases urine output, reducing blood pressure.

How Olmigo C 20mg Tablet works

Olmigo C 20mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Olmesartan and chlorthalidone which lower blood pressure effectively. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

How To Use Olmigo C 20mg Tablet

  • Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmigo C 20mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Serious side effects may also include aching, tender or weak muscles not caused by exercise and swelling of the hands, feet or ankles. Olmigo C may also cause symptoms that may indicate high potassium levels in the blood, such as nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness and change in heart rhythm.
