Introduction to Hyocimax S Tablet MD

Hyocimax-S Tablet is used for pain relief. It relieves cramps or spasms of the stomach, intestines and bladder. It is also used to treat stomach and intestinal disorders, including peptic ulcer and irritable bowel syndrome.

Hyocimax-S Tablet should be taken on an empty stomach or at least 30-60 minutes before a meal. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.  This medicine should be taken at the same time each day to get the maximum benefit. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you are also prescribed with antacids, then maintain a gap of at least 1 hour between two medicines. 

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney disease or have history of ulcerative colitis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by, this medicine.

How Hyocimax S Tablet MD works

Hyocimax-S Tablet is an anti-muscarinic. It works by decreasing the stomach secretions such as mucus and acids to relax the gut muscles. By doing this, it relieves abdominal cramps and pain.

How To Use Hyocimax S Tablet MD

  • Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not handle the strips/film with wet hands. Keep it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Hyocimax-S Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

FAQ's on Hyocimax S Tablet MD

Does Hyocimax-S cause or stop diarrhea?

Treatment with Hyocimax-S may be helpful in controlling diarrhea associated with bowel spams however, it can aggravate constipation. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience diarrhea as a side effect of Hyocimax-S treatment

Can I take hyoscyamine with Benadryl/ Xanax/ Prevacid/ Omeprazole/ ibuprofen/ Tylenol/ Aleve?

Hyoscyamine has no known harmful interaction with active ingredients in Benadryl, Xanax (alprazolam), Prevacid (lansoprazole), omeprazole, ibuprofen, Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Aleve (naproxen). Please inform your doctor about all medication you are currently taking to avoid any harmful drug interaction

Is Hyocimax-S a steroid/ narcotic/ sulfa drug?

No. It does not have a chemical structure or effects similar to steroids or sulfa drugs

Does Hyocimax-S make you high/gain weight?

No. Hyocimax-S does not produce a psychological feeling of extreme happiness or colloquially known as feeling high. Weight gain is not among the known side effects of Hyocimax-S

Can I take Imodium/ Bentyl/ Percocet with Hyocimax-S?

Concomitant use of Hyocimax-S with Imodium (loperamide), Bentyl (dicyclomine) and Percocet (acetaminophen + oxycodone) can cause harmful drug interactions and should be avoided. Please inform your doctor about all medication you are currently taking to avoid any harmful drug interaction

Does Hyocimax-S contain sulfa?

It does not induce sleep and is not a narcotic drug

Does Hyocimax-S help with pain?

However, by reducing muscle contractions it provides relief from pain due to cramps

Does Hyocimax-S cause constipation?

Constipation is a common side effect of Hyocimax-S treatment.

Is Hyocimax-S over the counter?

No. Hyocimax-S is not an over the counter (OTC) drug. It can be obtained only on producing a valid prescription

Hyocimax-S is not a pain killer

Is Hyocimax-S a muscle relaxer?

Hyocimax-S blocks the action of a chemical called acetylcholine, and relaxes muscles of stomach and intestine and provides relief from abdominal cramps

Does Hyocimax-S help with gas/ nausea?

Hyocimax-S may provide relief from gas or nausea if they are symptoms of intestinal bowel syndrome or other gastrointestinal problems for which Hyocimax-S is given as a treatment. Nausea is also a common side effect of Hyocimax-S treatment

Is Hyocimax-S addictive?

It has no potential for addiction or abuse
