Favikast 400mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Favipiravir. It is an antiviral medicine used to treat influenza and other viral infections, including Covid-19. It belongs to a group of antiviral medicines that interfere with the replication of the virus. It does not treat infections caused by bacteria.
Favikast 400mg Tablet metabolizes to ribosyl triphosphate, converts into its active form called Favipiravir-RTP and selectively inhibits RNA polymerase, that is responsible for viral replication. It works by stopping the replication of the infection causing virus in the body.
