Eylea 40mg/ml Injection is a prescription medication used to treat eye conditions caused by abnormal blood vessel growth or fluid leakage in the retina. It contains Aflibercept (40mg/ml), which blocks a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), preventing vision loss and improving eyesight in conditions like wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic macular edema (DME), and retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
Avoid alcohol consumption before and after your injection as it may increase the risk of dehydration and interfere with your overall recovery.
Although Eylea is administered locally in the eye and systemic absorption is minimal, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver disease.
Eylea is primarily localized; however, if you have kidney issues, discuss your condition with your ophthalmologist to ensure overall safety.
Use Eylea only if absolutely necessary during pregnancy; it is generally not recommended and should be administered under strict medical supervision.
Eylea is not typically recommended for breastfeeding mothers, as its effects on breast milk are not well established. Consult your doctor for alternatives.
After the injection, avoid driving until your vision stabilizes, as temporary blurriness or discomfort may occur.
Eylea blocks VEGF, a protein responsible for abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina. This reduces swelling, prevents fluid leakage, and protects vision. It is injected directly into the eye to slow disease progression and improve vision clarity.
Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration (Wet AMD) – A chronic eye condition that causes blurry vision and central vision loss due to abnormal blood vessel growth in the macula. Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) – A complication of diabetes where fluid leaks into the retina, causing swelling and vision impairment. Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO) – A blockage of veins in the retina that leads to bleeding, swelling, and vision loss.
Eylea 40mg/ml Injection is an anti-VEGF drug that helps treat Wet AMD, Diabetic Macular Edema, and Retinal Vein Occlusion by reducing abnormal blood vessel growth and fluid accumulation in the retina. It helps prevent vision loss and improve clarity when administered regularly by an ophthalmologist.
