Introduction to Chloromycetin Ear Drop

Chloromycetin Ear Drop is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected ear and use it regularly to get the most benefit. The course of the medicine should be completed even if you feel better. You must wash your hands before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.

Generally, this is a safe medicine. However, it may cause mild and temporary irritation in the ear. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worry you. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.

How Chloromycetin Ear Drop works

Chloromycetin Ear Drop is a combination of two medicines: Benzocaine and Chloramphenicol. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

How To Use Chloromycetin Ear Drop

  • This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside ear.
